Terms of Service
These terms cover the conversion service at pdfmd.org, the page points that pay for it, and the Pro subscription. Read them before you buy anything.

Who you are contracting with
pdfmd.org is operated by summer, an individual developer. There is one support address for every question about the service: support@pdfmd.org.
By creating an account, buying page points, or subscribing to Pro, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not sign in and do not purchase.
What the service does
The service converts PDF, image, and Word files into Markdown and reports where each block came from. The processing path depends on the file, and the interface tells you which path a file took before and after conversion.
- A PDF with a usable text layer is uploaded to Cloudflare for document conversion.
- A fully scanned PDF is rendered page by page in your browser, and those page images are sent to Moondream 3.1 running on Cloudflare Workers AI.
- A photo or screenshot follows the same OCR path; a screenshot that the server confirms is dense is split into two or three tiles for Llama 4 Scout.
- A Word .docx is converted entirely inside your browser and is never uploaded.
Accounts and sign-in
Sign-in uses Google. There is no password to set and no separate account to create, so the security of your pdfmd access follows the security of your Google account.
You are responsible for activity that happens through your account. One person, one account: page points cannot be pooled, resold, or shared across a team through a single sign-in.
You may stop using the service at any time. Ask at support@pdfmd.org to have the account and its remaining balance closed.
Page points and what a charge covers
Cloud conversion is metered in page points, and points are only ever spent on pages that finish.
- A completed text-PDF page costs 1 point.
- A completed OCR page — a scanned PDF page, a photo, or a screenshot — costs 4 points.
- A page that fails costs 0 points; the reserved points are returned to your balance automatically.
- Browser-local Word conversion costs 0 points and does not require any balance.
Points in the one-time pack do not expire. Points granted by a Pro period roll over up to a balance of 2,000 and are spent before permanent points, so the balance that expires first is used first.
Page points are prepaid access to this service. They are not money, they earn no interest, and they cannot be transferred to another account or exchanged for cash outside the refund rules.
Pro subscriptions, renewal, and cancellation
Pro is billed monthly or yearly through the payment provider and renews automatically at the price shown when you subscribed. Each successful renewal adds 1,000 points to your allowance balance, subject to the 2,000-point rollover cap.
You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for, and the subscription stays usable until then. When the subscription finally ends, unspent allowance points are removed; permanent points from a one-time pack are not affected.
If a renewal payment fails, the subscription is marked past due and cloud conversion stops until the payment succeeds. The balance is held rather than deleted, so a successful retry restores it.
Prices, payment, and tax
Prices are shown in US dollars on the pricing page and are charged in US dollars. Payment is processed by Waffo through a hosted checkout; card details are entered on the provider's page and never reach this service.
Any tax, currency conversion fee, or bank charge added by your card issuer or the payment provider is your responsibility and is not refunded by us.
Prices can change. A change never applies retroactively to points you already own, and a subscription price change applies from the renewal after you are notified.
Refunds
Unused page points can be refunded in full within 14 days of purchase. The eligibility rules, the request steps, and the consequences of a refund are set out in the refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
Note in particular that a completed refund closes paid access to the account. That is a deliberate accounting behaviour, not a penalty, and it is described in full on the refund page.
Your files and your rights in them
You keep every right you already hold in the files you convert and in the Markdown produced from them. Nothing changes hands.
You grant one narrow permission: to process the file for as long as the conversion takes, so it can be turned into Markdown and returned to you. That permission ends when the conversion ends. Files are not stored after a conversion, are not used to train or evaluate models, and are not shown to anyone else.
You confirm that you are allowed to convert what you upload — that you own it, licensed it, or otherwise have the right to process it. Do not upload material you have no right to process.
Acceptable use
The service exists to convert documents you are entitled to convert. The following are not allowed:
- Uploading material that is illegal to possess or process where you are, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Automated or scripted use that bypasses the interface, the request limits, or the point accounting.
- Attempts to obtain conversion without spending points, including tampering with client-side page counts or reusing conversion identifiers.
- Reselling access, sharing one account across an organisation, or offering the service to third parties as if it were your own.
- Anything that degrades the service for other people, including load testing without permission.
Requests are rate limited per account. Hitting a limit is not a breach of these terms; deliberately working around one is.
Accuracy, and what conversion output is not
Conversion is automated. Text extraction can misread a layout, OCR can misread a character, and a table can survive its borders but lose its meaning. The interface shows page-level provenance precisely so you can check the result against the source before you use it.
Output is provided as-is. It is not legal, financial, medical, or professional advice, and it is not a certified transcription. Do not rely on converted text for a decision that matters without reading it against the original.
Availability and changes to the service
The service is provided without an uptime guarantee. It depends on Cloudflare for hosting, conversion, and OCR, and on Google for sign-in; an outage at either can stop conversion.
Features can change, and a feature can be withdrawn. If a change would make page points you already bought unusable, you will be told before it takes effect and offered a refund of the unused balance regardless of the 14-day window.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Liability is not excluded for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud.
There is no liability for indirect or consequential loss — lost profit, lost data you did not keep a copy of, or business interruption. Because results are not saved to an account, keep your own copy of anything you need.
Suspension and termination
An account can be suspended if it breaches the acceptable use clause, if a payment is reversed or charged back, or if a refund is completed. Suspension stops new conversions; it does not delete the billing history, which is kept for accounting and dispute resolution.
If an account is suspended for a reason other than abuse, any unused permanent points are refunded on request.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and a change that materially affects paid access is announced before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the revised terms.
Language, law, and disputes
This page is published in English and Chinese. The two versions are intended to say the same thing; if a difference in wording creates a genuine ambiguity, the English version governs.
The service is operated by an individual rather than a registered company, so no exclusive forum is imposed on you. The mandatory consumer-protection law of the country where you live continues to apply and nothing here limits it.
Please raise any dispute by email first. Most billing questions are resolved in a single reply, and a refund is usually faster than a chargeback.
Questions about these terms
Write to support@pdfmd.org with the question and, if it concerns a purchase, the email address on your Google account. See the contact page for what to include and how quickly you can expect a reply.
The other policies
Three short documents complete the picture: what happens to your data, when money comes back, and how to reach a person.
